Background Information: This was my wife and my first cruise. It was also our honeymoon. We are both in our late 20s, I am a graduate student studying to be a college professor, she is an accountant assistant.

Travel To Port of Embarkation: We were coming from the Tulsa area so we drove down the previous day and had done a few things in Dallas. On Sunday we woke up early and drove down into Galveston getting into Galveston around noon. We were parking our car at EZ Cruise parking and found it quite easily. We could also see the Rhapsody from the parking lot which was neat, since neither my wife nor I had ever seen a cruise ship up close and personal. The Carnival Conquest was docked there as well and is clearly a larger ship. There was a VERY long line into EZ Cruise and it took us about an hour to get parked and then another hour to get to the port terminal. The hold up was due to the fact that Rhapsody got into port 4 hours late because there was a medical emergency on the previous cruise and they had to turn around and go back to Cozumel. So, as a result, the embarkation process was long and VERY disorganized. It was also frustrating because we had done the online check-in to expedite boarding and since the ship was late they just put everyone together so doing the online check-in saved us absolutely NO time. We finally got onto the ship around 3. We did get our luggage delivered to our room pretty quickly. Also we met our room steward Ricardo right away and he was very friendly, we were impressed that he already knew who we were.

Stateroom: The stateroom wasn't bad, but very small. They had pushed the two cots together to make a small king sized bed for us. A warning though, the beds are not particularly comfortable. We requested an egg-crate cushion and that helped some. Other than that the room was pretty basic. If you can afford the extra money I'd recommend getting at least an oceanview room, the interior rooms are pitch black with the lights off.
