Mariner of the Seas Review
Background Information
This was the first cruise for my wife, whereas I've spent a great deal of time on boats of all sizes. Prior to the trip she had serious concerns about being seasick the entire time. I explained to her that the ships are so large, and so well designed and balanced, that she would hardly feel any motion except maybe slight rolling at the extreme bow or stern of the ship. When we awoke the second day, she thought we were already docked but we were doing 21 knots in 4-6 foot seas. The motion was almost imperceptible. At that point I envisioned a new Visa commercial: Balcony Suite for two on a Caribbean Cruise $2500, Seasickness patch, herbal remedies, ear drops and special pillow to prevent motion sickness $95, digital recording of your wife telling you that you were right all along: Priceless.
