Sail Date: Apr 2006

My wife and I were on the April 23, 2006 sailing of Adventure of the Seas. We flew through the night to get to San Juan, this was a mistake. We were very tired when we got there, and it took a couple of days to catch up on our sleep. We arrived in San Juan a little after 10:00 am. We took a taxi to the ship, and arrived there shortly after 11:00 am. They were not letting people on the ship yet in fact people were still getting off. About 12:00 they opened the doors, and we were on the ship. After dinner the first night my wife decided to skip the show, and go to bed. I stayed and watched the show it was great.

St. Thomas - We went scuba diving. We booked this through the ship. It was fun we dove at a sunken barge that was used to house troops during WWII. After the war they used it for target practice and sunk it. The water was a little cloudy, but it was fun to hear the history behind the wreck. Then my wife went shopping down town, and I carried the bags.

St. Maarten - Before we came on the cruise I had rented a Wave Runner with shoretrips.com. We got a taxi to Orient bay. We had the wave runner reserved for 11:00, and we got to the beach at 10:00 am. They said we could take it at 10:00 if we wanted. We took it out and had a good time throwing each other off the back. by making sharp turns or hitting waves. The wave runner wasn't very old and was in really good shape. They do restrict the area that you can take it. After that we sat on the beach for awhile, me under the umbrella, and my wife in the sun. The we caught a taxi down town so my wife could do more shopping, and I could carry more bags. We walked from town back to the ship ( needed to burn some calories in preparation for tonights eating). St Martin has changed since we were there last. They now have a tourist area right at the end of the pier. You just find the tour you want to go on, and go to that area to get a cab.
