Well, I was a little leery about the cruise from some of the reviews I read and found that it wasnt as bad as most peoples reviews. That is not to say that I didnt find things that were not up to normal cruising standards. The restaurants were fine but the service in the restaurants was inconsistent and lacking. Most of the staff in the two main restaurants were friendly and generally happy but the attention to detail was not some of the staff's forte. It all depended on where you were seated, we found two of the servers quite good and tried to get into there area whenever possible. Unfortunately it is not that easy and we were put with some staff that would take forever to serve you, forget orders or bring food stone cold. We figured this out and tried to budget an hour and a half for breakfast before we went ashore hoping to be able to eat some food. I had to leave my meal one time before the main course because this wasnt enough time one day.

The Cabin was small but well laid out with a pretty good view from the balcony. Our steward was not one of the best we have ever had. On previous cruises, including an other NCL ship, the stewards we had were friendly and very attentive to our needs. Unfortunately on this cruise our steward would forget to refill the toilet paper when empty, forgot to give us towels (I gave up complaining and just went to the pool and got my own). When turning down our room one night while we were still in the cabin, we told her to go ahead and finish while we enjoyed the view on the balcony. The first thing she did was turn on the TV so she could listen to music while she turned down the bed. I told her that I didnt feel like listing to her music and to turn it off. It was met with a surly look as though I was infringing on her rights. I know we just lucked out with one of the bad ones, and I am sure she wasnt representative of all the cabin staff. I dont know but the staff in general, while mostly friendly, didnt have the same enthusiasm that the multicultural staff of the Caribbean ships have.

The pools were a welcome surprise, they were fresh water. That is the first time on a ship that I have experienced this.
