Traveled with children

We drove from Virginia to Ft. Lauderdale and arrived early Saturday and stayed the morning with my sister. We arrived at the pier a little before 1 and were onboard and finding our room by 1:30. We had an Interior stateroom on the Riviera deck which was very nice and we had plenty of room for the 4 of us - my kids loved the upper berths to sleep on. I thought the ship was extremely lovely, clean and nicely decorated. Upon arriving to our room the steward was there in the hall and introduced himself and asked who we all were, he did a fantastic job and kept the room wonderfully nice even with my children and the messes they can make.

I was a little disappointed with the dining choices but I didn't have any food that I thought was bad. I thought the buffets would have had more choices for dinner, but we did very well with my kids in the dining room. We had anytime dining and we never had to wait even a minute to be seated and dined each evening around 7. The dining room staff we had each evening were really great and no complaints about any of the staff that we had. We ate in Sterlings one evening while the kids did the children's dinner and it was really nice, the waiter there was fantastic. I would truly recommend paying the $15 cover charge and we had a lovely meal. The kids both had the soda cards and didn't have any problems getting their drinks, however I didn't notice them being sold except on the first day. You can also purchase an ice cream card for $17.50 which I believe allowed either 10 or 12 ice creams which my kids purchased. Mixed drinks came in small, medium & large, I preferred the medium size however several times when I requested a small, I was told the particular bar didn't have the small size - wasn't really sure what that was about though and the prices on the drink menus are for smalls.

The Movies Under the Stars was nice, many different films played throughout the day and evening. I didn't notice the noise from the MUTS on the opposite end of the ship and found there were tons of deck loungers for people, esp if they didn't want to use the pool and the decks above the pool did really well at blocking out the noise.
