Both me and my husband sailed on the April 23rd sailing of the Spirit out of NY. This is our first cruise so we have nothing to compare it to. We had a blast.

Embarkation was a breeze and we were on the ship by 12:30 pm. We went to our stateroom which was a suite so it was very large. The bathroom was huge and the shower could have easily fit 4 PEOPLE! No kidding it really was that big! If your big people like us the space was worth the extra money. The Spirit is a ship in a class of it's own! Though slightly smaller than most modern cruise ships, the ship and it's decor is both unique and beautiful! The asian inspired staterooms and public areas are simply breathtaking!

We had read many reviews about the food on the Spirit being of poor quality, frankly we do not feel this is true. 98% of the time the food was excellent too exceptional. Yes there were some things at the buffet that just looked or tasted funky so we didn't eat them, but there were very few. We found that some things we didn't enjoy were just prepared differently than we would have at home, but they didn't taste bad, just not our cup of tea.
