This being the first cruise of both my wife and I. We both, in our mid 20s, wanted a cruise with lots of entertainment in addition with peace and quiet at times. (What a combination.). We decided after reading many reviews of the hassle to board and disembark in Puerto Rico with the long lines. That we would begin and end our cruise in Barbados a little more expensive. But sure worth it. We arrived at the port in Barbados at the stipulated time on our ticket. And walked straight to the ship, no lines, no crowd, no hassle. Within 20 minutes of our arrival at the port we were in our room. Our bags soon followed. The ship was pretty empty for us to explore, as the majority of passengers all went on their way to explore the beautiful island of Barbados. We used this opportunity to get to know the ship. Trust me it would take some time to understand, just remember. Deck 5 would become your best friend.

Our stateroom room 2215, was on the 2nd floor with a window. The room was very clean, and was in the middle of the ship. However, the toilet was positioned in such a way that made using it very uncomfortable. The shower was very small, but being a tall guy 6ft 6inc, I was still able to just get under the showerhead. The Bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, and was my wife's highlight of the trip. She wanted to carry it home, if only possible. Our room steward seemed to be always very hard at work. And would only see her working in the hallways as we came back to our room. She made us different animals with the towels every night, which we began to look forward to. However didn't even see her to tell her thanks. Thanks Olga.

We found that the ship was showing her age, although was well maintained. The carpets were faded. And there were a lot of purple and dark colors used in their themes, made it a bit depressing in certain areas. The shops on board were limited, although the prices were reasonable. However, be aware of the "Gold by the Inch" promotion they run. Not real Gold.
