Sail Date: Apr 2006

We just completed our voyage on the Dawn Princess, which sailed the Mexican Riviera from San Francisco on April 19th through April 29th, 2006. While this was our first-ever cruise we are not strangers to extensive resort travel. Overall our experience was positive and looking back on it I owe that to this web site and the members of this community. I wanted to leave this review to give back a little.

As a preface to these comments I need to add that I did not purchase this cruise: I won it in a contest at work. If I had purchased a cruise it likely would have been to different destinations as we have done Mexico before and, frankly, didn't care for it. I hope our previous experience does not taint the review of the cruise too much.

I travel a great deal all over the United States -- 3 to 4 weeks a month. Standing in lines, dealing with little soaps, eating processed foods and seeing places we've seen before isn't usually something we look forward to in our vacations. But we loved the process of preparing for a cruise in getting the packet and going through all the pre-cruise checklists. We found it heightened the sense of adventure and anticipation. Princess was wonderfully responsive to everything and even re-did our whole travel document packet because of a minor misspelling of my first name. We largely used the cruise organizer on Princess.com and we found that took care of all our needs.
