My husband and I sailed our seventh cruise aboard Holland Americas Veendam. It was our first sailing on Holland. We enjoyed the cruise overall, and give it very high marks in most areas. There was one area which was kind of a deal breaker for us, but it is a matter of preference and probably doesnt apply to all that many people.
Embarkation was a breeze! We pre-registered on-line and walked right up to check in, where the check in associate had a camera to take our pictures for our boarding cards, saving another step later.
We had a window cabin on the Lower Promenade Deck, which is surrounded by a walking deck. The room was more spacious than other lines and included a sofa and table. It had a flat screen television and DVD player. The bathroom was larger than most and had a bathtub instead of a shower. The bed linens were new and very nice. We rarely saw our Cabin Attendant, but knew he was there by the clean state of our cabin all the time.
