This was our third cruise, first on Celebrity. Other two were on NCL and RCCL. Our children preferred RCCL, but we loved the more formal cruise experience of Celebrity and the wonderful pampering. We were particularly wowed by the exceptional service everywhere on board. One of our group had sailed Crystal in Alaska, and could not say it was any better than the Infinity. If anything, he preferred the many more choices available on the Infinity to the smaller ship he took with Crystal.

Alaska in the summer is a great way to beat the heat. So many exciting excursions to choose from. We went kayaking, hiking, took the railroad, and went salmon fishing. We were too chicken and cheap to try heli-hiking. Our daughter went for a dog sled ride (on wheels because there's no snow in the summer) in Skagway and raved about it. We booked the excursions on our own through the internet sites of the chamber of commerce of each city. All of the excursion operators were truly wonderful. Very accommodating and totally reliable.

What can you say about the Infinity? I can't say enough about it. We had 4 of us in an inside stateroom, and the cabin was very well laid out. We had swim suits, shorts, sweaters, jackets, rain slickers-somehow there was room for it all. There was actually a fifth berth in the cabin-a pull out chair-and if economically necessary, two average size adults and three children could fit. The cabin steward invisibly pulls the beds down at night and puts them up during the day, and is a great help in keeping everything neat and orderly.
