Sail Date: Apr 2006

I am writing in regards to my first cruise, which took place on April 16, 2006 on the Millennium. My boyfriend and I chose to book with Celebritys Concierge Class, despite limited funds (I am a public school teacher) and because of the lines reputation for excellent service. We investigated different cruise-lines through cruisecritic.com and Berlitz guidebooks. It seemed unanimous that Celebrity offered a superb experience, so we splurged. While the dining and public areas of the ship were wonderful, I was extremely disappointed with the Concierge Class service.

We were in stateroom number 9162; the oversized balcony was wonderful. However, I was disappointed with the stateroom services. When we arrived in the room around 2:30 pm the champagne was in a bucket of water. By the time we left port around 4:45 pm the complimentary champagne was warm. The bottle of champagne that was purchased as a bon voyage gift was never even chilled down, it was sitting next to the stateroom attendant placard that did not have a name on it.

On the first night of the cruise the balcony door locked itself behind us while we were outside. We had to call up to the people at the Ocean Bar to get us help. After waiting thirty minutes the assistant chief housekeeper arrived, he kept insisting that the door was not locked. If it wasnt locked, why were we stuck out there?
