Took RCI Splendour of the Sea for a 5-day cruise out of Galveston. It was excellent. Seas were as smooth as glass. Ship much better than I expected based on previous review comments about the age.

Day 1 at sea extremely windy - spent deck time in the solarium and away from children (children have to be 16+ to be in solarium area). If children do get in, eventually RCI will ask them to leave or you can go get a RCI employee and notify them of the children. Must admit it is nice to enjoy a pool that is probably not 50 percent urine with the water.

Cozumel is still being tendered in and quite frankly, not worth the bother to get off the ship. Went to a snorkeling area called Uba beach and rented clear kayaks - lots of fun. Shopping was the same old stuff you see at every other port. Unless you are a big drinker and just have to visit places like Carlos & Charlies & Senior Frogs - would skip Cozumel. Tendering out is fine and quick. Tendering back to the boat is long, hot and they definitely OVERLOAD the tender which is very unsafe.
