This was our 3rd cruise, 2nd on Carnival. We are from Las Vegas, and we feel that we are intimately familiar with good dining and entertainment. We decided to take this cruise because we have our son this time, a 3 year-old, and the last cruise we took was on Princess, which was a great cruise but felt a bit too old for our age group. We also liked the itinerary, since we have already done the Western and Southern Caribbean in the past. I hope that you find my review helpful.

TRAVELING: It stinks to have to travel to FL from the West Coast. We decided to take a red-eye which got us at FLL around 7:30 AM. We ate breakfast at Chilis, and went to a very nice lounge in the airport, got some sleep, and went to Port Everglades around 11:30 AM by cab, which cost around $15.

EMBARKATION: Ive wished that I went to the port a bit earlier since there were hundreds of people already ahead of us, and the lines were long, but were relatively smooth and fast-moving. We were on the ship in about 30-40 minutes. Despite what others have written about FunPass, it really does help to complete it online. All of our information was in their computer and the actual paperwork involved showing our credit card for our sign/sail card and signing/initialing in a few places.
