Our trip on the Carnival Legend was a last minute planned trip. We were fortunate to get a nice balcony room in a great spot.

EMBARKATION: We flew in to Ft. Lauderdale and arrived about 11:00 AM. We took a taxi to the port (about a 10 minute ride) which cost about $12.00. We tagged our luggage and then went to stand in line. The line was not terribly long and we waited maybe 20 minutes before getting in to the building. When they began to move the line and start checking in passengers, it went very fast. We were amazed that we got on the ship so quickly. We went directly to our room, which they had not cleaned as yet and left our carry-on bags and then went to the upstairs buffet. We were seated and eating our lunch by 12:15 PM. The food was terrific.

FOOD: We cannot say enough good about the food on Carnival. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. It was all very tasty and great! We are big RCCL fans, but the food on this ship surpassed them. We never had a bad meal. We loved the layout of their buffet. It was set up as 8 different buffets: salad, pizza & caesar salad, New York deli, outdoor grill (hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken and steak sandwiches plus the fixings to go with it), dessert bar, Asian buffet, a daily Taste of the Nations (different country featured each day), a hot luncheon buffet. If you could not find something you liked there you could eat in the dining room. They serve pizza 24 hours a day and Carnival has the best caesar salad I have had anywhere.
