This was our second cruise with Holland America and we chose it as a special occasion trip celebrating our 40th anniversary. I would rate the South American trip as an adventure to places where nature plays a wonderful part.

I found the size of the Rotterdan easier to navigate; easier to meet and remember people. There was however, a serious problem with the plumbing which we had not experienced on other ships.

We chose the verandah (7th deck) which offered special concierge service including free dry cleaning. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable as well. However, I must inform you that this expensive cabin 7014 was located below the swimming pool and we experienced noise from the sloshing of the water. Whenever the ocean was rough which it can be on this trip, we heard the noise. I did mention this problem on several occasions and the answer was We cant control the ocean. I answered, theres always a solution to a problem and this is not your maiden voyage. If this was a hotel I would have checked out. For a very expensive suite I would have expected a better solution.
