Destiny Review December 11-18, 2005

Pre-Cruise -- We drove from Toronto, Canada to Buffalo, New York on Saturday and spent the night there. With two adults and a 5-year-old, we saved over $1000 on airfare flying from Buffalo to San Juan versus flying directly out of Toronto. The park and fly at the Buffalo Best Western worked very well for us.

Embarkation -- We arrived in San Juan at about 2 pm on Sunday. Our first adventure was the taxi ride to the pier. Within seconds of pulling away from the curb at the airport, our cab was pulled over by the police. They were running a radar trap right in the airport terminal. Our driver started arguing with the officer and within seconds we were surrounded by officers! My wife and daughter just wanted to leave and get into another cab. About 10 minutes later after much arguing in some not so nice Spanish words and a ticket, our driver sped away and took us to the pier.
