Background: Mid 30s couple, 18-month daughter and 75 year old father. 2nd cruise for husband & I. Goal - to spend time together and sleep.

Travel & embarkation: Arranged our own air to San Juan - same day direct flight. Had pre-booked a car service for transport to dock through Fairways transport (www.fairwaypr.com) . They were waiting when we arrived and transfer was smooth and effortless, I highly recc them. When we arrived, our driver handed us and our bags off to a porter who then whisked us past all the people waiting in line. He gave our bags to the bag-people and we went directly upstairs. We had a suite and were in the Skippers Club, so we got to check in a separate suite, no wait. They then escorted us to the head of the security line and we walked right on. This all made the large fare worth it, there were probably 100 people waiting for check-in at the regular line. Room: One cat 12 and one cat 11. I've only sailed once before (on Disney) and was surprised how small the cabins were as they are the largest on board. The odd side definitely had the worse view in all ports. They were clean, a little darkly decorated for my taste, and the bathrooms were slightly shabby. Also 2 of our pillows had an off smell. Otherwise, no complaints. Our stewardess, Anca, was wonderful, kept us tidy despite our best efforts and was so sweet to us and our daughter.

Ship & Activities: The overall ship reminded me of a Vegas casino (this is not really a compliment). If you like chrome, brass, black lacquer and purple fabric, you will feel at home here. The public spaces were clean, although the entire Promenade area smelled of smoke (since this is where the bars are) so we avoided it.
