Ship Facts: Carnival Valor Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Valor Deck Plans
Carnival Valor - Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Slow-we got to the terminal about 1:30PM, we were able to get up to the counter in about 15 mins. which was very quick. However, when we got to the walkway to go onto the ship we were held up about 45 minutes waiting for the photographers to take the obligatory welcome aboard shot. Very tiring, you are standing there with your carry on bag and it gets to be rather aggravating. This was the worst embarkation I have experienced. Bring a copy of War and peace you may get through it.

Rooms:The rooms are very nice, Carnival offers rooms that are larger than most other cruise lines. We had a balcony on Lido Deck, Very convenient. Nice room and Lido deck is close to activities, pool, spa and Rosie's Buffet. HINT: Take a can of allergy spray, hose down the bedding. I woke up every morning with puggy allergy itchy eyes.

Entertainment: Was great, the band Musiczone in the Paris Hot room is great, the disco tends to gear its music to a younger crowd not so good. The casino was great. Won $50. The shows are well worth seeing. Karaoke is a kick. The sing along bar was lots of fun. Make sure to get there just before the player comes on to get a seat around the piano.

FOOD: Stick to the spa cuisine on the dinner menu, the fish was greta, the beef was awful, the buffet was golden coral. Not so good. and the same quality. I thought this was some of the worst food I have tasted on a cruise.

Ports of Call: San Juan (Fantastic, we got here at night and did all the local little bars etc. Senor Frogs - was a Blast)!

St. Thomas: Very Very Very Very Dirty !

St. Maarten : Great for jewelry the best shopping very clean. Enjoyed it a lot. Grab a beer and walk down the street.

Debarkation: Much faster than embarkation. Goes form Top deck 1st and on down.

All and all i had fun I have cruised a lot. This was a lot of fun. Make sure to try all the activities, and enjoy !
