We just returned today from our Feb. 26 7 night cruise on the Mariner of the Seas. This was our 13th cruise so we are totally spoiled and jaded, but came back ready to sing the praises of the crew of the Mariner.

The ship is the most beautiful you've ever (or never) seen. Bright colors and flair, but in excellent taste and very elegant. Every area was immaculate and spotless. There was constant cleaning going on and we never saw anything out of place or not taken care of. The staterooms are very clean, comfortable, and well lit with plenty of space for your things. We always overpack. We took two huge rolling suitcases, two folding suit hangers, one medium rolling suitcase, and two large carry ons. We were able to put everything away, including the bags, and still have lots of room for purchases. The shower doors really kept the floor dry. We had the refrigerator and used it for our bottled water and sodas. No problem.

Our room steward, Winston, kept it beautiful and kept our ice bucket full, as we had asked him to do. He always had a smile and a friendly greeting. In fact, the entire crew was cheerful and accommodating. That makes so much difference to your shipboard experience. A sullen unhappy crew can ruin your trip. It has happened to us. I attribute the high morale to Captain Johnny with his professionalism, cheerful demeanor and corny jokes every day. All the crew members seem to enjoy working for him and take pride in their ship.
