We have cruised many times; 8 times with Princess, 3 times with Royal Caribbean, and 1 time with Carnival. We arrived in Houston and took the Princess shuttle to Galveston. We usually take a taxi, but only 3 of us arrived at IAH (7 of our group arrived at HOU) so we took the shuttle since it was cheaper. The shuttle service was extremely slow, but the weather was cool, so we weren't missing out on sunny, warm weather throughout our wait; 90 minutes for the shuttle to arrive at the airport and then 1 hour to get to the ship.

Embarkation was fantastic since we are Platinum members. Non-platinum cruisers had quite a line to wait in, but we walked right up and checked in which was a pleasant surprise after the long shuttle wait and ride. Once arriving on the ship, there were lots of friendly and courteous staff to point us in the right direction.

We had a great time. This was our first time with anytime dining and we will definitely do that again. The service in the dining room was great even though we were at a different table each night. Even with 10 of us eating together each night, we never had to wait to be seated. Food was very good. I am a dessert person and Princess does not excel in this department. We ate lunch at the grill most days and also enjoyed that.
