This was my third Princess Cruise and I think my last for a while. We embarked in San Juan which was our first mistake. Airport was a zoo and waiting in line for our luggage and then standing in a line of about 100 people for a taxi put us in a negative state of mind.

We stayed at the Sheraton-nothing special at all-met friends at the Marriott -- gorgeous -- and the next day dragged our luggage across the street for embarkation. Embarkation was a breeze and we received our luggage by 3pm.

Let me first say the Golden is so beautiful it was amazing!! The balcony on the Caribe deck was OK but I did not like the people above us being able to look down and I did not like looking down on the next balcony. The balconies on the Sun Class ships while smaller offer a lot more privacy. Also people's smoke and loud voices carrying was so bad outside we had to keep the balcony door closed most of the time so we could not hear them or smell smoke. Our room steward was OK but never once took the bedspread off the bed at night! He left it on the bottom of the bed. Chocolates were haphazardly thrown on the pillows and glasses were sometimes not replaced.
