Cruise: Norwegian Star -- Feb 5th
First I want to give you a perspective of where this review is coming from. I am a man in my mid forties and live in southern California. This was our first cruise in 10 years and we took this as our anniversary present to ourselves.
That being said lets press on with pride. Were outta here: Embarkation we left Riverside around 10am and had no traffic on the way down so we got to the pier a little early. When we arrived at the gate there was a sign that said all NCL star passengers need to arrive after 1pm. There were two NCL ships at the dock the Star and the Dawn. We were excited to get onboard but we went to a local restaurant and had breakfast. We set out for the pier again this time they said they were letting everyone on. Parking is pretty easy and you park right where the ship docks. Parking is $12 dollars a day. The Security guy told us that the $9 a day parking is no more. Once we parked the car a shuttle was right there to take us to the embarkation point. This was good 'cause we had way too much luggage. The dock is a beehive of activity and I did not notice any signs explaining what to do. No problem we just found someone wearing a NCL shirt and asked him whats up? It was a couple of baggage handlers and they explained that we had to get luggage tags and give our checked bags to them. Ok well I knew this part in advance so I had printed up address labels with my name, Ships Name, and cabin number. We got the tags at a desk and stuck the labels on the luggage tags while everyone else was doing acrobatics bent over trying to fill these tags out on top of the luggage. Easy Parcheesi.
