We flew from Australia and were met at the airport and taken to the ship. Embarkation was simple and pleasant. Not like the reviews I had read. We had a picture window outside cabin and were well placed on the ships with a walk upstairs to the aft deck for breakfast.
FOOD. We sampled all of the restaurants and would recommend booking early to get in. This includes Crossings and The Palace, otherwise you end up with the buffet (not the best). Food was ample and if you went hungry, then I would be surprised. Would definitely go to Kahali.
STATEROOM. It was small but suitable as you don't spend a lot of time in them. House maid was great and friendly.
CREW. We only had one unpleasant experience when in the Pacific Heights and we told by the waiter to hurry and order all courses now as he was going to busy and we never saw him again and poured our own wine. A lot of the crew came on board the same day as us and didn't have a clue about anything on the ship, more training would help.
EXCURSIONS. We would have loved to do more but as most were $103.20 tax incl per person, we had to limit out choices. We loved MAUI and would recommend the Road to Hana, even though it is a 9 hour trip. HILO HATTIES Beware!! When you walk in there is Maui divers and they give you a key to open a box and so it begins. You can select an oyster for $13.95 US and of course you get a pearl and then they will try to get you to purchase an expensive setting. All the Islands were lovely and clean.
DISEMBARKATION. As we were on the top floor, we got off first at 8.45am and had to wait until 11.45am for our bus to take us into Waikiki. The ground staff were hopeless and another passenger ended up phoning the company to get the bus for us. The staff just simply ignored us.
OVERALL. Enjoyed the cruise and the spectacular scenery, food was good and onboard activities and shows were great. Service in some of restaurants slow and if you want to see a show, eat early.
