Ship Facts: Explorer of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Explorer of the Seas Deck Plans
Explorer of the Seas - Western Caribbean

What a great ship ! First surprise was our room. our room attendant Gerald was great and friendly. The bed looked rather uncomfortable online, but in fact they were very comfortable and we slept well. Hint is to bring a small "sound machine" to create some white noise. We had a balcony and the room had a fair amount of storage compartments tucked here and there.

We took in the shows, our favorite was the beatles cover band, but all the shows were well done - standard cruise ship stuff, but nice.

The food at dinner was wonderful and our servers, Catalina and Olga were wonderful. WE never made it to Portofino's Italian restaurant, but other guests said it was wonderful. We did have a great burger at Johnny Rockets.

The ports were disappointing with the exception of Grand cayman which was beautiful. Three of the four ports required tender service, they did a good job but it is just the nature of the beast that it is a slow process. If you left the guarded shopping area in Belize the place was rough. The town of Cozumel looked like the marines invaded them. It is obvious they have little money as little has been done since the hurricane-the people were great and really seemed to appreciate us being there. Overall the ship was smooth and no one got seasick. They say the ports on the Eastern Caribbean tour are nicer but the seas are rougher. 98% of the crew is great and goes out of their way to serve you. Had a great time.
