We arrived at the Ft. Lauderdale Port early but boarding had already begun. Despite a long that appeared long, we were on the boat within a half hour. There was a line for those that had pre-registered online and they moved faster than those of us that had not done that. But check-in was well-handled, quick and painless. Once on board, lunch was being served, the pool was open, and things were in full swing. We ate the first of many very decent buffet luncheons. Proceeded to our room by 1pm, and had took part in the emergency drill at 4pm before we set to sea. From the moment we entered the port building, the Celebrity spirit of helpfulness, kindness and perfect service had already begun. The level of service held throughout the cruise, with a few exceptions.

THE ROOM -- We had a verandah room that I purchased under the guarantee program. We saved 200 dollars per person and got the same verandah room as everyone else. Although our steward told us the room's balcony was a few feet smaller than others in the higher category. We couldn't' tell the difference. The bed was very comfortable, the room very clean with only tell tale hints of wear and tear. There was a television that had primarily Celebrity channels detailing port excursions, dining options, spa treatments, and location at sea. CNN, TNT, Discovery and a few others were available, but CNN was the only one that was live and in sync with what you'd see on land. The others ran the same programs over and over again. The pay movie channel had excellent choices at $11.98 per film

The closet had plenty of hangers, drawers and other space to stow things. There was a safe, and lots of storage throughout the room. THere was NO iron. The bathroom was very small, but functional. The dressing area just outside the bathroom was a point of congestion whenever myself and my companion were trying to dress or undress. The shower was small, but adequate. There were no amenities aside from soap and a wall dispenser with shampoo. The water was hot, the pressure good, and the shower clean.
