This trip was unlike any other Carnival Cruise I've been on. This was my 6th with Carnival the third time with our 3 children, agest 8-13. Our last trip on the Pride was absolutely wonderful. We were so disappointed this time.
We liked our inside cabin until the first night. We went to bed around midnight and realized that above us was noise that seemed as those there was a bowling alley on top of us. The noise continued all night long. In the morning we inquired at the Pursers Desk what was above us and what was going on. We found out that the galley was directly above us. There is activity there 24 hours a day. What we were most likely hearing was them rolling around carts with dishes and other items. When they dropped things, and they did, we were jolted out of our sleep. We were told at the Pursers Desk they would document our problem and we should keep letting them know the situation. There was no change in this situation all week.
Even more upsetting to me then the noise was the staff. In particular the bar staff. The most unfriendly, actually even nasty and annoyed at times. I purchased soda cards for my children, but try to get them to serve the kids, almost impossible. I watched my 13 year old stand at the pool bar for a coke for 10 minutes. They avoided him and took care of everyone around him. I finally went to the bar and asked why they had ignored him and was told they did not see him. I was told this over and over at each location he tried to get a soda. The bar staff acted as though they were being inconvenienced and annoyed at my questioning them.
