This was my first time cruising and I was definitely IMPRESSED! My wife and I booked a JS because we were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted to do things right. The cabin was about as large as expected. It was very comfortable and was about the size of a standard hotel room. There was an amazing amount of storage space available and I did not even think about using my "over-the-door" shoe hanger. We were able to store all of our clothes, all of our medicines, all of our toiletries, and all of the other "supplies" that we brought along with plenty of storage to spare. The room was clean and neat. I looked carefully for signs of wear and found very few. The bathroom had some slight imperfections but overall the room was in great shape. We asked for the egg-crate to be added to the bed when we first met our steward and it on by the evening. We both slept great all week!
Embarkation was quick and painless. We arrived at the dock by 12:00 noon and were on the ship within 10-15 minutes. There were no lines and we were immediately processed through check-in and security. I've read of lines on the message board but we didn't notice any lines at all at embarkation.
We ate in the Windjammer just a few times and didn't really enjoy it compared to the dining room. I warmed up pretty quick to full table service with linen napkins and excellent menu choices. I found the dining room to be excellent every time without exception. My wife ordered room service most mornings and it was very good as well. I found myself heading up the one deck to the Windjammer often to get coffee, tea, and desserts which we enjoyed on the balcony. The thermos decanters that the coffee comes in kept coffee hot for several hours and so it was nice to have coffee delivered in the morning that we would drink throughout the morning.
