Once we were in the terminal, there were 8 rows of people waiting to go in to register and get there sea pass cards and accounts set up. We had to wait about a half an hour then went up to the Select Captain's Club line and were taken care of quickly. We went right on the ship and to the buffet on the 10th floor to have some lunch and were let into our rooms at 1:00.
CABINS: We were at the bottom of the ship, ( I always book there due to not spending any time in the room, and am leery of seasickness). I have read some threads that have said that the Infinity is worn and tired. I did notice that our bed skirt had a tear in it...my sister's cabin also had 2 torn bed skirts. They only change the sheets every three days (as per our cabin steward). Noticed on the fourth night that my husband's side of our queen bed had a huge stain on it. Small thing...not going to ruin our vacation in any way.
FOOD: The food was the same quality that we have had on all 7 of our Celebrity cruises...very good!! Sushi was very good quality...not Nobu mind you. Pancakes were good..pizza excellent...themed buffets good. Food in main dining room was very good..prime rib perfectly cooked..rack of lamb excellent! food always came out hot..our waiter and his assistant were very coordinated. Did not notice any new menu items...I guess people were saying that a new menu was coming out in Jan. ( not that we noticed.) PORTS OF CALL: First day was at sea...gorgeous weather..of course the pool chair hogs were out in force. Literally impossible to get a chair in the Thalasotherapy area. Unlike the Connie, the Infinity only has soft cushioned lounge chairs on one side of the ship. The other side had curtained off ares of 5 with tables for eating at the spa. We noticed lounge chairs that went for hours without being used! Just went ahead and moved the towels so we could enjoy that area also.
