Let me start by saying that I LOVED THIS SHIP! Let me back up --- my friend and I met in Fort Lauderdale the day prior to embarkation. We rented a car from Avis (hint: upon returning the car, an Avis employee drove us to the Port; I will definitely rent from Avis for upcoming business and pleasure). We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, Pier Sixty-Six. It was fabulous ---- but, remember to ask for one of their newly decorated rooms. Absolutely gorgeous!
Embarkation: We got to the port at around 11 a.m. At approximately 11:30 a.m. (after being cleared for sailing), they started the boarding process. It was very easy, and very fast. I was thoroughly impressed!
The Cabin: We were in cabin B326, which is on the Baja Deck. Look folks, if you're going to cruise ---- cruise right, and spring for a verandah (balcony). You will not regret it! This was my third cruise. On my first, I was in an oceanview stateroom without a balcony. On my second, I had a balcony. The difference is phenomenal! If you do it once, you'll never cruise without a balcony again. Just do it! The cabin was the usual cruise ship fare. It was nice, but small ----- again, per usual. It was kept clean. Our cabin steward, Alberto, was wonderful -- even when I spilled champagne on my sheets right before he was going to turn down our beds. Fitness & Recreation: The very last thing I want to do is workout when Im cruising. I barely want to do it at home ----- why would I torture myself while on vacation??? So, I cant help you there. However, the ship provides excellent choices of recreation for every taste. They have a lot of activities by the Neptune pool ---- volleyball, the sail away parties, etc. We attended the sail away party when leaving Fort Lauderdale, and had a great time dancing, eating, drinking, etc. The recreation staff is fabulous! Oh, play Bingo ---- I won $125! I never win anything! I love Princess!
