This was our first cruise and we were pretty excited about it. My husbands boss has taken RCL on eight+ cruises and highly recommended the line. We had made up our mind before our trip that we wanted to relax and not book our days full of activities.

We flew into San Juan and arrived about 6 pm. The Serenade was due to sail at 10 pm. We read many reviews before our trip and knew to check in our luggage BEFORE we got into the line to get our passes. Unlike some of the other cruise reviews, we were not asked to provide a tip to ensure our luggage got to our rooms. The check-in process went smoothly and we got to our rooms without any problems.

The Ship -- Beautiful. The Serenade is part of the Radiance class of ships. I loved the map-etched glass elevators that took you to the rooms. The floor of the elevators have plaques that tell you the day of the week, just in case you lose track. Each floor had a variety of styles in art, sculptures, and paintings with something to fit almost any taste. The casino was just like Las Vegas but we did not spend time here, we dont gamble. There is also a fascinating sports bar. You need to stop by just to check out the dEcor. The cinema was small but very cute. We planned on checking out a movie but never made it.
