My wife and I cruised on the Norwegian Sun to Alaska for 7 days the first week of June 2003. The itinerary included cruising the Inside Passage leaving from Seattle with stops at Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, and Victoria British Columbia then returning to Seattle. We were traveling with a party of 8. There were 3 couples in their thirties and one couple in their 50's. We had a fantastic time but as far as rating the ship and all the food, service, entertainment and all other amenities ratings went from good to excellent.
Planning
I know some reviews begin with the embarkation, but I want to take it back a step and let you know why we choose the Sun. We started planning in December for our June cruise. I had talked with a guy I work with who had cruised to Alaska and he highly recommended getting a balcony. He was right as we cruised the inside passage we were within sight of land most of the time especially on the way north. I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery (don't forget to bring your binoculars). So I knew I wanted a balcony room.
