Cruising on New Years Eve was wonderful! The champagne was passed around (complimentary) day and night! When the 2006 sign lit at midnight and the ship's horn sounded, it was great being up on the Lido deck.

This was my 9th cruise (4 RC, 4 Carnival and 1 Princess) I had no complaints about food or service. The cabin steward wasn't as friendly or visible as on some other ships, but the room was always cleaned and beds turned down, ice bucket filled!

The Elation is (like other Carnival ships) a 'fun' ship! There is always something going on and the entertainment is good. The only disappointment was the piano bar. When I was on Triumph and Conquest, I really enjoyed the piano bars and the piano players. Doug on Elation wasn't very entertaining and the bar was usually not very crowded. He complained of too much smoke on more than one occasion. (c'mon, you're playing in a bar!) I don't smoke either and don't like a lot of smoke, but I think he was a little 'crabby'! Good thing there was some good music elsewhere (Romeo and Juliet and the Drama bar) Casino was fun and the slots actually seemed to pay more than usual!
