Sail Date: Dec 2005

This was our first cruise, but we had checked out previous reviews before sailing, so had a bit of an idea of what to expect. We didn't have any trouble, or long lines at embarkation, because we arrived around 6:30 p.m. If you don't want to wait in line, then don't show up right away. Debarkation also went smoothly and quickly for us.

Food: We tried all the restaurants. The New York Deli was good, but had long line ups. We primarily stuck to the main dining rooms for dinner, and really enjoyed the variety and quality of food. Expect a dinner to take 2 hours though. If you want to have faster service, just tell them, and the wait staff will accommodate you - e.g. we wanted to attend a dance class one night, and had less than an hour to eat, but the staff managed to get us through a meal with appetizers, salad, main course, and dessert in time. We had some exceptional dinners and desserts on board, and also some mediocre ones, but overall were impressed with the quality of the food. The last couple of nights especially were very good - filet mignon, osso bouco, chateaubriand, etc. Also the 24 hour soft-serve ice cream machines get very addictive!

Room: We had picture-view room on the second level and had no complaints with it. The shower always had hot water and good water pressure.
