Three of us (all adults) traveled to Papeete, Tahiti from Los Angeles on Air Tahiti Nui. We were in coach and it was the best coach seat/service I've ever had. We had two meals, cocktails, flowers for our hair, and more. Each seat had a tv screen in the headrest in front of them where you could watch movies, play games, or watch our location. The flight was 8.5 hours but wasn't too bad.

Weather - HOT HOT HOT and MUGGY MUGGY MUGGY and SUNNY SUNNY SUNNY. November is the start of the rainy season and we had rain, of some form, every day. It is not a cold rain and if you just accept that you'll get wet I wouldn't even worry about bringing rain gear, it's just a pain to pack. Some days the rain was a sprinkle and some days it was like a torrent.

We stayed in Papeete two nights prior to the cruise (Sheraton, which was ok) and did a tour of the interior of Tahiti one day. It was a great tour. We also explored Papeete that night but a lot was closed as it was the weekend. We did have dinner at the port at "the trucks" where they cook delicious and inexpensive food right out of these food trucks. The next day we tried shopping in Papeete but everything was closed for Sunday. But you can buy flower arrangements near Le Marche on Sundays, although Le Marche itself is closed.
