We just returned from our 12/10-12/17 cruise with Golden Princess. This was our first cruise, but we found it to be a great vacation. As we went to board the ship at 2:00, we found the lines to be extremely long...later that afternoon they were a fraction of the length.

Our room on the Aloha deck was clean at all times and stewards were friendly. The ship is very well kept and the staff seems to be very attentive.

On port days, we departed the ship and found local taxi drivers to give us tours of the islands. These tours were a fraction of the ship's excursion price and just as good. We loved St. Thomas (our drivers name was Bobby) and would return there again. Our tour of St. Kitts was also good. We were extremely disappointed with Grenada--the hurricanes have hit them two years in a row and many of the locals are pushy and annoying. Our driver was also very hard to understand and so we felt that we missed out on a lot. I would recommend staying on the ship at Venezuela-there is nothing to see or buy. At Aruba, we did the Jolly Pirates Snorkeling tour and it was incredible! The price is $50 for three sites, booze and dinner. Lots of fun!! We choose personal choice dining and were so glad that we weren't locked into a specific dining time. We never waited more than 2 min. to get a table in the dining rooms. As a side note, we had planned on eating in the two restaurants with up charges but didn't because the food was excellent where we were. The only thing we got tired of was the Horizon Court Buffet because it served the same things every morning. We attended about half of the entertainment on the ship and found it to be good..not fabulous but worth seeing. One of the best parts about this ship is that you never feel like you are with 2600 other people. We rarely had to share pool time with other passengers. We felt it was a great vacation for the price.
