First time on RC, and while the cruise was okay, the ship and management services didn't match prior cruises on Holland America or Princess. The Legend is showing its wear and tear in the staterooms, but the public areas on the ship were in good shape and mostly very appealing. Also appreciated the number of elevators available. However, the layout of the ship lacked convenience, particularly having to walk through the pool area to get to the Windjammer Cafe. The ship had something located everywhere (as in overly crowded), and the only quiet place seemed to be the Schooner Lounge, which provided excellent piano entertainment. As this was the week before Christmas, children were everywhere. RC obviously is a good choice for families, but for more mature cruisers, this was not a very entertaining cruise with little geared to adults. Rules for children were not enforced, so often the elevators had a small herd of children riding up & down continually.

While the Purser's staff was not efficient, the service staff were excellent -- appreciated not being hounded to buy drinks. The food varied from okay to very good in the dining room, and the Windjammer Cafe consistently had very good to excellent food. The pizza was the worst -- think cardboard with glue for cheese.

The excursions were handled fairly well, and enjoyed visiting 3 Mayan ruins on this cruise. Tendering at Cozumel was awful due to the use of local ferries, but people got where they needed to be in the end. I kinda resent the new cruise stops (i.e. Costa Maya) which are obviously bought & paid for by the cruise industry and invented to make more stops. Apparently Costa Maya is owned by Carnival, with all the local vendors working for that cruise line. Getting on and off the ship was excellent, and also appreciated that people disembarking were not herded to the cruise ship's taxis and people could find their own transportation without pressure.
