This was our (my wife and I) 23rd cruise. Though I study the Cruise Critic reviews before selecting each cruise we take, I have never written a review before. This time I felt I must do my part to set the record straight.

NCL America is the only major cruise line that offers a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands without 4 days of crossing the Pacific Ocean. Since I wanted to spend any available vacation time in Hawaii as opposed to crossing the Pacific, I decided to take this cruise despite the huge amount of bad reviews, many of which were absolutely terrible. I therefore looked upon this cruise as transportation, with no expectations of enjoying the ship, service, food etc.

What a surprise! The ship was so pleasing to the eye with bright beautiful tropical colors but lacking the neon glitz we have seen on some other ships. It appeared that no expense was spared with the decoration and furnishings. And the ship was perfectly clean and fresh. Read more
