To begin, embarkation was very easy. Getting off was a little more difficult, but we were still able to get to FLL in plenty of time to catch our plane. The Jewel is just that...a Jewel. The ship was beautiful and the crew was always cleaning.

I was disappointed in the size of our balcony stateroom. It seemed smaller than the one we had on the Celebrity Millennium. The other disappointing factor was the balcony didn't have a table so if you wanted to have a romantic dinner on the balcony, you couldn't because the footstool size table was only big enough to put a beer on it. I was also disappointed to find there were no robes for us to use. Our stateroom attendant was very good. He cleaned the room and brought everything we requested. I had left his gratuity in the room so that I could give it to him later, but he picked it up himself and to be honest that was the last time we ever saw him. No thank you, no nothing. Just picked up the tip and that was it. He didn't check with us the next morning to see if we needed anything, nor did he come back to say goodbye. Maybe I am expecting too much, but I thought that was in very poor taste.

The Food....Since RCCL is not know for its food, and I had had a bad experience with food on the Mariner of the Seas, I wasn't expecting much. Imagine my surprise. The food was really very good. It wasn't as good as the food on the Celebrity Millennium, but it was very good. We didn't try the food in the specialty restaurants because we were very pleased with the food in the dining room. Activities - The ship had enough to do if you wanted to do it. I for one am more interested in the ports of call than I am the ship. My husband likes the ship. He did tell me it was hard to find food late at night.
