Serenade of the seas - 11/19/2005

We departed Kansas City Saturday morning and arrived in San Juan at 4:00 p.m. We had booked airfare and transfers thru the cruise line, and the transfer was a most unorganized affair. Lines seemed to form willy-nilly and nobody seemed quite sure of which one was the "real" line. The transfer company pretty much destroyed my luggage by the time it got to the ship - the frame was bent in the middle, rendering the wheels useless and top of frame was dented badly. Filed a claim with RCL and they attempted to repair it, but it is beyond repair. It's an old bag so I suppose it was time for a new one anyway. That is the only downside to the entire cruise, so with that out of the way, on to the good stuff.

We arrived at the pier at about 5:30. Check in was a breeze - nobody else in line, we had our sign and sail documents printed and were checked-in and on board the ship in about 15 minutes. We had early seating at dinner, so we dropped off our carry-on bags in our cabins and headed to the dining room.
