We just returned from our Hawaiian cruise and enjoyed ourselves. After reading so many negative reviews on this board - I was super-sensitive to my surroundings, service, etc. We found the crew to be very friendly, helpful and positive. They have a lot of younger crew members on this ship who seem to be just trying something new for a year or so - and I think that is why some people believe the service to be of lower quality. On most cruise lines I would consider the service to be more "polished" because the crew are experienced and most of them support families by their job. Most of the crew we encountered were younger (in their 20s) who just wanted to see how they liked this new and different job. They were always very, very helpful and friendly though. I think after a few years the crew would be "weeded" out to those who really want to make a career out of this. I felt this was the biggest difference with this cruise line than any other we have sailed on. what they lacked in experienced, they more than made up for in friendliness.
Our cabin was small, smaller than most, but adequate. We didn't spend a lot of time in our cabin.
The food at East/West was outstanding - our chef at the tappan table, Noel, and our waiter, Dominick were incredible. We ate there two times and enjoyed the food each time.
