This was my first cruise. Cruised on the Zuiderdam from Nov 5th to the 12th, 2005. Had a balcony room and it was great. I would sail with Holland America again in a flash. There are some things I would change, but nothing that would make me not cruise with them. Had a wonderful, relaxing time.
The ship was spotless and the decorating that people talk about is fine. Ridiculous to even mention the decor. Nothing wrong with it.
People need to pay the extra for a balcony room. Room service was great. Lido restaurant was great. Room steward was great. Room was always clean and ready for our return.
