My wife and I are in our mid 40s, professionals and frankly had a wonderful time on this cruise. I think that 97% of the ship was older than us and we saw very few kids or teenagers which for us was perfect. A walker or two but no big deal..... ;)

There has been a lot written about The Liberty so I will not rehash. But I will put in some useful data.

The Train in Rome: If you plan on taking the train to the port from the airport in Rome, it's a no brainier. We didn't care about seeing Rome so we stayed at the Marriott by the airport. Yes, they have a shuttle it cost a few Euro's per person, if you arrive around lunch take a taxi, their lunches are a few hours. We took the train the next morning, made a transfer, etc...this with a huge roller and a nice size duffel each. If you are older and not in real good shape you may not want to do this. It was 14 Euro's for the both of us. When buying your tickets tell them where you want to go and they will tell you which number train to get on. When you make your transfer do the same so you get on the right train. Once at Civ. you walk out of the train station take a right and walk for about 4-5 blocks til you get to the McDonalds. The street in front of the McDonalds is the entrance to the port. You go under a small arch walk about 5-10 yards look left and you will see some buses. . Cross the streets and ask which one is for Carnival. If no buses...wait That's it. It's to far to walk to the boat. Now you could skip all this and just grab a taxi from the train station right to the boat...I wouldn't and I'm all about grabbing taxi's.
