Just returned from 7 Day Western Caribbean tour on Star Princess. Embarkation/Disembarkation: Smooth as could be. We arrived around 2 p.m. (per their recommendation) and there were no lines. We had registered everything possible online, so we showed our passports, signed a few things and were on our way. Getting off the ship was just as organized. Passengers were allowed to leave the ship at 8:30 a.m. and the color of our tags put us about halfway down the list. We were off the ship by 9:30 a.m. The luggage was sorted neatly by tags and we found our luggage without a hitch. Lots of porters available to take the luggage to the curb.

Cabin: We had two side-by-side cabins on Deck 10, Caribe Deck, Starboard side, at the very front. Next to our balcony was the front of the ship which housed the officers balcony. We had lots of problems getting these cabins (more on that later when discussing service), but once we got them, they were fine. Quite a bit smaller than similar category cabins on the Vision Class of Royal Caribbean, but ok. We had a huge balcony, which we used a lot. Unfortunately, due to the strange design of this ship, the people in the balcony could look down on most of our balcony, and we could look down at all of the mini-suite balconies on the deck below us. Very uncomfortable, as we felt like Peeping Toms when we were standing on our balcony listening and watching the people below us. Also, we had smokers below us and in port their smoke was always traveling right onto our balcony.

The Ship: Very confusing layout. We cruise very often, and by day 3 I usually have my bearings. On this ship, I never got my bearings. I was always asking crew which was was aft, how to find the dining room. Very confusing layout, which was confirmed by many overheard conversations by other travelers.
