This was our 19th cruise, 3rd on Celebrity, and 2nd on the Century. We previously cruised on the Century in 1998 and sailed the Infinity in Alaska.

After sailing the newer ships of the Caribbean Princess and the Mariner of the Seas in the past year, we were very disappointed in the condition of the Century. We had read reviews on how beautiful this ship was and from our previous experience on the Century in 1998, we had high hopes that Celebrity would maintain the ship to it's high standards. Were we wrong! We later found out that the ship is to be dry docked to totally refurbish the ship and add additional balconies.

Embarkation was absolutely terrible as was debarkation. Even though the ship was undergoing a Coast Guard inspection, no one from Celebrity made any announcements of any kind as people sat there waiting for up to 4 hours. Fights nearly erupted at both embarkation and disembarkation. At embarkation, numbers were given to some people, but numbers were never called. No announcements were ever made and everyone was jamming the doors to try and get through to check-in. It was pandemonium! Disembarkation was just as bad as Celebrity forced everyone to get there luggage first, then go through customs by forming 2 long lines which was a joke because people were trying to drag all there luggage through the line and people were cutting the line. Consequently, tempers flared and pushing and shoving ensued.
