This was the first cruise we ever went on so we didn't know what to expect. We had 3 nights in Honolulu at the Hilton, 7 day cruise then one night at the Marriott. Our travel plans arrived about 3 weeks before the trip, at that time my wife checked our airline seats. NCL had us booked from Boston to O'HARE to HONOLULU. They had us booked for two different rows on a 777 aircraft. She made several calls to the travel agency and UNITED AIRLINES to get the seats changed. After 3 hours on the phone I found her in tears when they all refused to help. At this point I called the travel agency and told them I would be canceling the trip if they didn't fix the problem. They said wait until Monday. I called UNITED and they said, ask to move your seat when you get to CHICAGO. After talking to two people and telling them I was canceling everything, they changed the seats. Theres 4 hours I will never see again. When we arrived in CHICAGO there were about 100 mad passengers trying to get there seats moved, with no luck.

We arrived at the Hilton on OCT 27, I thought for $6000. they would give you a room with a view, I was wrong. We got on the PRIDE OF ALOHA on SUNDAY OCT 30. Embarkation went smoothly other than the photographers that keep trying to take your pictures. CABIN: We had a balcony room midships #9031. They room was very small with furnishings that looked like they were about 20 yrs old. Mostly every night when we were at sea the balcony door made a howling noise. Being a tradesman I tried everything to stop it. Tuesday night was a very rough night at sea, at about 1:30 am I went to the desk and told them I needed duct tape or rope to seal the door. I ended up taping the entire door. Once that was done the door was quiet. Now it was time to address the crew. Our room was directly opposite a area were the crew brought dishes back to be cleaned. Every 5 mins. they slammed the door or bounced there wagons off the walls. About 2am I informed one crew member that we were trying to sleep, he stood their with his mouth open in a daze.

Cleanliness: The room was never vacuumed. Is it to much to ask for clean glasses every day. IT MUST BE. Because it didn't matter. They don't even give you hand soap. Our STEWARD was very helpful. The hallways were always full of used room service dishes. We borrowed the flat iron and was told they would be back for it in an hour, then they had a life boat drill. Monday afternoon after our shore excursion we went to WAL-MART and bought a cheap iron for our clothes. When we went through security on the dock the staff took it from us. I was told it was because of coast guard fire rules by management. That night these dopes had a magic act where a girl ate fire. She had a burn on her arm covered by a large bandage. Figure that one out. FOOD: I will admit I am a fussy eater. I like plain food. But I also have no problem eating burgers or pizza most of the time. The food reminded me of the tv shows where prisons brag about feeding prisoners for 17 cents a day. I ate 1 1/2 dinners in the buffet over a period of seven days. The half is because they ran out of turkey on sunday. We never ate anything that was even moderately warm in 7 days. We ate in the bar when on ship. Left over buffet burgers and frozen pizza. on sat. night I ordered pizza and was given 4, approx 4in sq pieces of pizza. I went nuts. The food on this ship is pure trash. We found out that there was a buffet with pizza , hot dogs burgers and that type of food. When this closes they serve you this leftover food in the bar.
