My wife and I booked this cruise out of New Orleans because it had 4 ports of call and 2 nights on Bourbon St. at the Crown Astor motel. Hurricane Katrina took care of that. we ended up in houston and 3 ports and cancelled the 2 nights they wanted us to take in Houston. so they were supposed to give us a 250$ credit on our shipboard account. NCL flatly refused to give us the 250$ credit. After repeated emails and phone calls to online vacation center I have received 1 response. he said he was shuffling it to another department. that was 10 days ago. They have not heard the last of this.
After Hurricane Wilma tore up Cozumel NCL cancelled this port with no substitute port. we tried to cancel but ncl was having none of that. The lady I talked to at the travel agency said NCL was trying to find alternate port and would try to make up for lost port [bull!!] they did absolutely nothing! They didn't even open up the bar for an hour or so. too cheap!
Embarkation was a breeze the best I've seen. Debarkation was also the best I've seen. Everybody working on the ship was so friendly and helpful. We were on a balcony and it was the only way to go especially stuck with 4 sea days. However the chairs on the balcony sucked! We had to use the pillows from our room to put on the back to be able to sit in it for more than a minute or 2. The food in the main dining rooms was pretty good. The food in the garden cafe was horrible! I remember school lunchrooms being better than that. Drink prices were outrageous. 8 dollars for a drink! I'd order 6 beers and my wife a drink and it would be over 35$ after tip. Needless to say when we finally got to port I got some beer and rum and didn't buy anymore from the ship.
