My wife and I decided to try our first cruise. We had been to all-inclusive resorts before, but never on a cruise ship. Getting on the ship seemed a little overwhelming for us. We weren't sure where to go and what to deal with first. Room, luggage, purser's desk, excursions, lunch? We were hungry and decided to drop our carry-ons in the room and hit the buffet. On the way we passed a couple tables where they were trying to sell you wine for dinner. We got confused and frustrated as the staff at these tables implied that we had to order wine for each night right then or our choices at dinner would be poor. Not knowing what we were having for dinner, we were hesitant to make a selection. When we finally chose a bottle based on the "menu" we were shown the staff member says "That is not a quality wine." which offended my wife. We walked off without placing an order. Later we found there to be many choices at dinner for wine, by the bottle or glass. Also we never did have the menu we were supposedly making our selection for. Don't get pressured into this unless you really want an expensive or specific bottle, it's just a sales pitch.

Nassau was very nice. We walked around and shopped a bit. The straw market is interesting. They are a little pushy, but I've been to much worse. And no those are not real "Coach" purses.

Coco Cay was great. We decided to rent snorkel equipment and swim out on our own. There is a shipwreck and 2 sunken planes close to the beach. We never found the planes, but did see many colorful fish and coral, one stingray and one barracuda. The shops there have similar items to the straw market in Nassau, but with no pressure at all. The barbecue was good and there was no shortage of people or places to buy drinks from.
