We just returned from the PoAm 11/5/05-11/12/05. My DH and I are both 34 and have traveled NCL before. We've also sailed Carnival, Disney and Holland America. We live in Vail, Colorado, and I mention this because living in a resort area, we have the opportunity to dine and enjoy many high end places in our "back yard." With that said, we don't consider ourselves high maintenance, but we do expect nice things. With that said, PoAm did NOT disappoint.
We flew in the day of the cruise and had booked our own air. We landed at 3pm and could see the ship from the sky. We used Star limo to transfer us to the pier. There was no waiting in the Suite check-in and we were walking onboard in less than 10 minutes. Flawless.
We went straight to our Owner's Suite, located on deck 12. It was immaculate. I had heard about the housekeeping issues and had my expectations low, but my worrying was for nothing. The suite is amazing. We stayed in an AB on the Dawn in 2003 (we took our two DDs with us then) and this suite was even better. We used the Jacuzzi on our deck daily. For those cruisers who say they book the low category as they don't spend a lot of time in their cabin, need to book the owner's suite once to change their mind. There just wasn't a better place onboard then on our gigantic deck (table for 4, two chairs w/ ottomans and two chaise lounges, along w/ a 6 person Jacuzzi tub). Everything was in place (excursion tickets, champagne, etc.). Our butler came by within moments and was incredible. If you have the fortunate luck of landing Josh as your butler, you're in for a treat. As we'd traveled w/ a butler before with NCL, our expectations were high. Josh exceeded those. We had breakfast every morning (except once) delivered to our balcony. As crazy as the requests got toward the end of the cruise (I admit we even tried to throw them a bit w/ our breakfast order), absolutely everything arrived in perfect quantity, on time and hot.
