Sail Date: Oct 2005

We returned a week ago after sailing on RCL's Brilliance of the Seas from Barcelona to Rome... I hate to break the heart of all you die hard RCL fans, but this was worst cruise we were ever on. We have sailed a few Celebrity and Norwegian cruises and this was a first for RCL.

The boat was beautiful and we were surprised the our suite was shabby. We had the Royal Family Suite and the furnishings were old, threadbare and outdated. The beds were terrible and all the bathrooms had a really foul smell (all throughout the ship as a matter of fact).

Room service was awful. They put baked beans on the eggs, forgot half of your order and still by the end of the cruise they couldn't get it together. The staff in the dining room were great but we were sadly disappointed by the food... It was just edible, to be on the kind side. Upstairs in the pool side buffet, the food was really bad and the service was poor.
