Carnival Miracle - Western Caribbean

Sail Date: October 2005
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Tampa

This was are 4th cruise and we loved the Miracle. We are in our mid 50's and enjoy the party type atmosphere.

Embarkation was a lot easier than our other cruises. Make sure you fill out your fun pass online before going, it makes check in a snap.

We were in cabin 7125 which made me worry because it is way forward and I was afraid of the motion but We felt very little. We had a balcony room and can't cruise without it anymore. After our first balcony room we were hooked.

The room steward service was great, which it always is, very clean and very fast.

The food in the dining room was so so but I can always find something to eat on a cruise ship that meets my needs. We never made it to Nick & Nora's, just too busy but the reviews were great from the other passengers we talked to.

The entertainment was very good. we are not much for shows but had a great time in frankie and Johnies. we did not go to the disco much, just not keen about More dancing with 16 year olds. The disco is open to 16 and older after 11 PM.

The ports were great except for Belize. This is a 3rd world country and the true definition of poor. We booked the cave excursion tour thru X-Stream tours online and did not enjoy it. After a 37 mile ride at about 90 miles an hour you go 6 miles down the bumpiest road I have ever seen. I think it shook all the loose change out of our pockets. We then packed a tube for 40 minutes thru the rain forest which had very muddy and sloppy trails. Two people fell and one of them was my wife. We started tubing and a lot of the water was only 4 inches deep. Don't need to work my tail off that hard for fun. The chicken dinner at the end was good, but i fed half of mine to a skinny cat that I felt sorry for. If you are not going to take a tour in Belize, STAY ON THE SHIP.

Grand Cayman was great. We booked the stingray tour through Moby Dick Tours online and was very pleased. this was one of the best excursions we have ever been on. I will never look at a sting ray the same again after touching holding and actually kissing one. We had 30 people on our boat and the cruise ship had about 200.

Cost Maya was a relax stop for us, we just hung out at the pier pool and drank Great drinks and had chips and salsa.

Cozumel was about the same, we shopped and went to Carlos and Charlies where the balloon man made me a pornographic hat. You must do 2 things if you go on this cruise. Go on the sting ray tour in Grand Cayman and got to Carlos and Charlies in cozumel. book through Moby Dick tours they are about half what carnival wants and a lot less people. Debarkation was a snap. our flight was @ 1:30 an we made it to the airport with tons of time. we booked our transportation to and from the ship through Bay shuttle. They were half what Miers wanted.

Will answer any questions you may have if you e-mail me.

Happy cruising Less
